The 3rd International Urban Sketching Symposium will be in the sunny Caribbean city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, July 12-14, 2012! The Symposium consists of sketching workshops, panels and lectures by a top-notch team of international instructors and a whole lot of fun sharing our love for on-location drawing.
Hahahaha Peng, that sounds great. For the ones of you who do not know what "Bandera Dominicana" (Dominican Flag) means, the phrase refers to our main plate, the one eaten daily, it is white rice, red beans and meat (either beef or chicken), accompanied usually with fried yellow plantains or green ones (green ones are called "tostones")
make sure to leave some space for a "Presidente" (our national beer).
I absolutely love mangú! (And the Presidente as well...) Thanks Arty, had never heard the phrase before. Casabe I guess is the same as in Puerto Rico, probably tried once as a kid. Still don't know what is mambá.
Mambá is a homemade version of peanut butter and I don't think you can find it on supermarkets, is more like a homemade thing... I have to say I had never try it since I am note a peanut butter fan.
for sweets I prefer "dulce de leche con coco" o "guava", yummy!!!! :-)
