Reflexion

I believe that life between buildings is more interesting then the building itself. The participants in this “sketching hunt” workshop are invited to draw "unseen" aspects of a particular site, indoors or outdoors, by doing a collection, series or sequence of drawings exploring particular themes that are introduced by a sketching ideas list. Each sketching idea comes in the form of key words.
As a former i find very usefull to include drawing activities like that one in site exploration. The goal is always the same: to give people a chance to explore other ways of looking.

For this drawings, made by me in separate days, the key word was reflexion. 

This drawing was made standing inside the cofee bar at the Lisbon Cultural Center and looking outside. It was just before the nighfall and the cofee interior was allready illuminated. The outside cube, a sculpture, was illuminated on the inside at that time too, with a green light. One way you can describe light is through the reflexion. The reflexion here also defines the ground surface.  

You can define space just by taking one element of the foreground, middle, and background plans. And you can do that in a subtle way. I often use the reflexion in the rearview mirror to the background plane.

Drawing has more to do with taking than adding.Remember: the paper blank is part of the drawing too.
