Thanks to Orling Arty Dominguez, cultural and social events are on my sketching radar for the Urban Sketching Symposium. Artists who take the, "Capturing the Event" workshop should consider the nightlife hotspots for an added sketching adventure. The first step in Capturing the Event is finding the event. So far, thanks to Orling, I've found Merengue, Jazz, and Lounge Music. More events should surface as July gets closer. There will be plenty of hot night life to sketch and experience. ReplyDeleteIn the amazingly small world we live in a few years back I was sent a link for a sketch of yours just as I was discovering the Urban Sketchers. You sketched the Chopper Steppe band and back up singer Megan Paquette Steppe sent me your link. I graduated with Megan at UCF in art. Such a convergence.
I now have your 2012 calendar hanging in my Venice, California high school art classroom where it helps inspire young artists every day.
