Hello everyone, my name is Scott Renk and I am super excited to meet everyone this summer in Santo Domingo. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina USA with my beautiful wife Angie, son Jacob, and dog Hines. I teach art and animation to At-Risk students (gangs, foster homes, pregnant teens, students struggling with life), it is my 7th year and I continue to find teaching troubled students an incredibly challenging and incredibly rewarding job. As you know art can change lives, many of my students have never taken art and end up going off to art school. I also am an artist and animator who has had the good fortune of having my films selected to some great film festivals around the US. I am self taught with animation and prefer traditional hand drawn and stop motion work. I often use music my friend and I make as the sound. I greatly enjoy being around like minded artists, it always provides great inspiration and food for thought. I have recently discovered Urban Sketching and have just begun to make it a practice. I really love drawing with pastels, but I am trying new styles and pushing myself with pen, makers, and watercolor. I really, really look forward to meeting everyone and learning from your drawings.
ciao,
