Just booked my flight for Santo Domingo. Can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to this. There is something so great about a global shared community of interest.
To launch this, my first blog, I’d like to share a drawing I did yesterday. I was in NYC on an appointment and stopped by Bryant Park, which is a block or two away from Time’s Square. It was 96 degrees when I got to the park, an incredibly hot and uncomfortable day. (It was actually ten degrees hotter in New York than the average temperature for Santa Domingo in July).
I found a table and chair in the shade and looked around. I liked the contrast of the blazing sunshine and silhouettes of the people in the shade of their table umbrellas. I used purple and a warm yellow to make the browns.
Mark, the hard part is starting. And you are off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteYou're scaring me a bit with the observations about the heat in Santo Domingo, cause I'm a northern guy.
I look forward to learning from you at the symposium.
