Hello, everyone! This will be my second USK symposium, and I'm excited to meet new people and reconnect with old friends from Lisbon.
I'm really looking forward to exploring Santo Domingo, trying new materials -- markers! toned paper! -- and getting out of my comfort zone (please pry the Lamy & Lex Gray from my fingers if need be!). And going to the DR is a good excuse to reread one of my favorite authors, Julia Alvarez.
I live in Stamford, Connecticut, but travel a lot for my job -- by day I work in intranet content management for Ernst & Young -- so a lot of my sketching happens before or after meetings, while waiting for trains, etc., around the world.
This spring I had the chance to go to Cleveland, London and Delhi for company meetings, so I made sure to take some time out for sketching:

[View from the 19th floor of the Marriott Key Center, downtown Cleveland, Ohio, US]
[St. Paul's Cathedral from South Bank, London, UK]
[At the Qutb Minar, Delhi, India]
Just like last year, my bike-blogger husband will be coming with me to the symposium. In case you're curious, this is what he did last year while we were hunched over our sketchbooks: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
Can't wait to see you all in SDQ!

Enjoyed your drawings and introduction. I was in Lisbon, too, perhaps we will recognize each other. I also enjoyed your husband's biking adventure in Portugal. My not-a-sketcher husband will be joining me,too.
