Loose ain't sloppy

After years of trying to get looser on my sketches, the thing I learned the most of the symposium was how to be loose but with a purpose.  Through the workshops and during the sketchcrawl I witnessed how artists whose work I admire record their impressions on paper.  Loose ain't the equivalent of sloppy.

Places are nothing without people, and people aren't just silhouettes to give a sense of scale.  I hope to be able to record my surroundings in a different way from now on.  Thanks to all the instructors and participants with whom I had an unforgettable experience.

  1. Luis, it was great meeting you and spending time together in SD. Love the drawings...as I said to you at the time, I think Ronald Searle would give the last one a big thumbs up!
